Heh. It’s as old as the hills, but I still laugh every time I see this exchange posted.

I’m going to go broke buying all of these Sailor Moon figures they’re releasing. Have you guys SEEN the new Mercury figure?!
Yeah, but haven’t decided whether I want to start buying the things. I’m not even sure where I would keep them.
Pensacola, FL has a convention? Para Con?
Why was I not aware of this when I lived there?
We do? News to me. Who told you this?
Wow. I have gotten, like, three followers in the past 24 hours. *waves* Hello.
It’s probably that post about having to cook this weekend. People love food.
I KNEW THIS DAY WOULD COME

Oda-sensei’s desk is everything I dreamed it would be.

TV Tropes calls that a Mauve Shirt. They’re not nameless, faceless goons, and the audience is often made to love them, but they’re JUST expendable enough that they can be used for an Audience Punch when emotion is necessary.
Did you seriously go and look this up after I told you about Chekov’s “substitute red-shirt” thing?
No, that would be quite silly! I just didn’t remember it until when I saw it in Tumblr.
You should realize by now that I have inadvertently memorized pretty much the entirety of TV Tropes.
